If you're using a router, you have two IP addresses. The first one is a private IP address for your home network. Open a command prompt and type IPCONFIG and press Enter. To get your router's IP address (the one the rest of the Internet sees) go to http://www.whatsmyip.net/
If you're directly connected to your DSL or Cable modem, either method above will work as you only have one IP address.

From the DOS prompt (Called Command Prompt on the menu) type ipconfig/all. It will print out some output including the IP address of your PC. If you are directly connected to a cable router or are using dialup this will probably be your internet IP. If you are on a corporate or university network then the IP of your machine will not be an internet IP but just what your computer is known as on the local network.

I am assuming you want to learn what your external IP address is. You can use this website to figure out what you need: http://this-ip.com/ or http://this-ip.com/more... the second part gives you more detail than just your IP.
