I had just used my car for the weekend and came off the highway. I was waiting at the red light with the engine running and when the light turned green and I took my foot off the brake and pressed down the accelerator, the car engine stopped.
I wasn't able to start it but after a few tries it worked fine. It did that one more time but has not done that since (a week ago). I am glad it has not happened again but I have not fixed anything. Is there something anyone can suggest (i) is broken and I should get looked at (ii) what I should keep in mind so this won't happen again?

too many possibilties, it is impossible to tell without futher information. what was the coolant temperature, what was the battery voltage, what was the oil pressure, was the car missfiring, did the car fell sluggish in any way, with a little more information we may be able to lead you in the right direction, but with currant information there are hundreds of pissibilities that could cause it.
