Tijuana and Juarez are dumps for drunken college students to cruise for the fabled donkey shows and that's about all they're good for, besides stinking up the atmosphere. My Mexican friends tell me Tijuana is the ahole of Mexico, and Juarez is the armpit, lol! I like Mexico City, wow what a great place! Oaxaca has a lot of fantastic artists too.

I can't speak for anyone else but the reason that I went to Tijuana with my family is because we were doing the whole California tour and Tijuana was just a short walk across the border from San Diego. I'm pretty sure we wanted to buy some cheap leather too but we're all lousy bargainers. Oh yeah, and my dad wanted some nasty Mexican liquor. I have wanted to travel to Mexico since but haven't had the chance yet. I'm not so short-sighted to think that Tijuana is the real Mexico! I've heard the resorts are very nice.

Tijuana, The only thing I know about it is that it is for wide open sex. Lots of young girls and all kinds of shows, you know. I visited once with my wife and even we were approached, politely, to come into a bar and see the show. Probably we should have and then we would have had a story to tell! But we didn't. Also, the actual reason we went was that we had a day to do something, and it was close by. My wife was from Argentina and we thought it would be fun to look around and have lunch at a Mexican restaurant. Well, the only restaurant that looked OK was the counter in a variety store and the food was clean, but not too good. I hear too that people drive down now to buy cheap prescription drugs (The Rx type). They probabably do the other ones too. So, why do they go Sex and Drugs. Have fun.

I travelled across Mexico in 94. Baja, Yelapa, Vallarta, Guanajuanto, Leon, Mexico City, Veracruz, Puebla, Oaxaca, Palinque, Playa del Carmen, Cancun, Tulum, Tizimin, and that one on the other side of Yucatan.....can't think of the name. Nice trip. But I dont go to Mexico anymore. Too much attitude. I fly to Philippines, now. Much nicer people.

Tijuana is not very far from US border, so many travel there.
Most no longer take airplane because it is too expensive, so people, espically Californians, just drive to Tijuana. Some also go to Mazatlan.

People are afraid to travel because of fear of highjacking and ripoff artists.
