I like the songs everyone else has mentioned. But the song that says what rock and roll is all about is the rock and roll national anthem.

LOL im kinda tired of people sayin that "Dark side of the moon" as the greastest rock song or album or whatever...that record is overrated to me......piper at the gates of dawn and a saucerful of secrets are alot better to me....
i would say the greatest rock song of all time would be between interstellar overdrive by pink floyd,
"white rabbit," by Jefferson Airplane
or "Star spangled banner" by Jimi Hendrix

the best rock song ever? well... there are so many amazing rock songs out there but iron man by black sabbath is really great... and hey jude by the beatles is a really common song. if you want more contemporary stuff then the best artists are probably panic! at the disco, fall out boy, and the all american rejects. classic rock bands are the rolling stones, the beatles, acdc, black sabbath, etc.

My fav is Master of Puppets, by Metallica, but i wouldn't call that the greatest. Really comes down to personality and what nots. Smoke on the water by deep purple is a classic, and so is I wanna rock and roll (all night) by KISS. so w.e =P
