No, hated it! The one with Gregory Peck and Lee Remick was much better. The remake tried to duplicate, i.e., STEAL, almost every scene from the first one. The better-grade of special effects was the only thing that saved the remake from being a total waste of my time and money.

I prefer the original, but that's the problem with Hollywood they rather remake a perfect classic then to think from their own heads (e.g. Texas Chainsaw Massacare etc...) I am totally sick of seeing Leathface do the same stuff over and over again!!!

It was a decent remake (I don't like most remakes) the original is still my 2nd favorite horror movie of all time.
If you were curious, you could rent it, but I wouldn't suggest you buy it outright just to see it.

i expected it to be pretty cheesy and only worth watching because i had seen all the other movies i had at the time but ended up really enjoying it.....it was a very good remake..

It wasnt bad. The original was better. There were some really slow parts, but some of the ways some of the people died were very creative.

no, older horror movies should be left in peace, all attempts to remake them fail miserably as special effects and lookin pretty on camera take precedence over any attempt to appear genuinely frightened or to act believably, just my opinion lol
