I went there also. They try to make you think you are "chosen". Anyone can go if they pay. Many parents send their daughters to teach them basics of make-up application and dress.
I would suggest that if you can- do it, they use to let you make payments.(I made payments) at the time it was $700.00 in 1984. I learned many useful things there, I never pursued modeling, but I learned how to apply make dress, act like a lady, sit, stand and just nice little things that matter.
May I ask, how much is it, 23 years later?
They sent us out on assignments, but it was more like to conventions to serve drinks??? Strange I thought. Still, the tools they give you are in valuable as far as beauty tips and posture, all that good stuff.

Models do not learn to model from a modeling school. They learn from their agency for free. John Robert Powers tells everyone that they can model because they want to sell you classes. At your height, you do not have a very good chance of modeling, but you might grow.

If you take a modeling class, recognize that you are doing it just for fun. It will not give you any help in becoming a model later. They might even teach you some bad habits such as an incorrect runway walk. Again, if you take the class it is just for fun.

If you grow when you are older and are at least 5'8, go directly to agents without schools. If they believe in you, they will pay for everything you need and will deduct the costs from your future earnings. An agency invests in you. It does not charge you.

Hi, sounds like you have some exciting prospects in the future.

Check around more modelling schools and agencies, I am sure you can get some more reasonable fees.

Your height at 5'5" is probably on the lower end of the required height for a career model. It may be wise to seek a realistic assessment of your prospects.

There are sites where you can represent yourself as a model, this may give you some of high the demand for you as a model actually is.

Try www.onemodelplace.com as a sample site.

Please watch out always for your own personal care and safety.

Enjoy!

Create your profile in most popular modeling websites. such as jurgita.com, modeltown and similar. Hope you will get noticed by soe agencies. You may also contact them yourself. In jurgita.com there is also modleing forum, so you can chat with some models and agencies as well.
And dont think you are to short. There are many types of modeling. Have some reading about it. Look for modeling articles and similar.
Good luck :)
