How does someone become a professional NFL Referee? And is the such a thing as referee school?

You don't start as a referee in the NFL without experience, just like you don't play in the NFL without starting lower.
There may be training classes, but generally you start by being a referee at smaller events.
If there is Pop Warner Football (or such) in your area, they use volunteer referees and give a class. Then you work you way up, high school, college, if you do well, the NFL may take a look.
