Actually, they don't work any more than American or Spanish flies. Mostly they just fly around looking for food and other flies to mate with. The females have to find something dead to lay their eggs in after that. Then they go back to flying around looking for food.
Oh, did you mean the other kind of fly? Well, I'm sure they probably don't have flys in their loin clothes, but a lot of African's wear trousers now days and I'm sure their fly zippers or buttons work about as well as ours.
