in my house?also,how much does a ton of coal cost? Thanks for any answers.

Your best resource here, is your own insurance company. Ask them, and get quotes from other insurance companies.

Also ask them for alternative heating source ideas... they may have a better idea for you to consider.

I know that in some cases, particular types of heaters will actually void your insurance contract. You should ask about this as well.

Call your insurance company. Simply tell them you are THINKING ABOUT putting in a coal stove. They can give you the $$$$ costs and the pro's and con's of doing so.
Coal stoves are still manufactured, however bying coal is getting more difficult and expensive each year. They are also a health hazard and will effect everyone living in that house.
If your trying to cut down on your heating bills, ther are better ways.

I have lived in my crib for 17 months, and it hasn't gone up even one cent...but i have a regular furnace...i wouldnt use that coal furnace you have
