I am asking if you could see the potential of a Major League Baseball team in Indianapolis, Indiana. Indianapolis does not currently have a MLB team at the moment.

I've lived in Indiana for just a couple of years and I can say that I can't see this happening.
A. There are nearby teams in Chicago (two), Cincy and even St. Louis.
B. It would mean using public money to either recruit a team and/or build a better stadium. (Indy has a small but nice AAA stadium.) And Hoosiers don't like paying for things. It would be a nice asset for the city and state, but there would not be support to help finance it. That means it won't happen here.

No, as someone above said the Cincy and Chicago Markets would be too much for our Indianapolis team to survive. Be happy you have any baseball, in the Indianapolis Indians because they are a terrific minor league organization (freddy sanchez, a star for the pirates and the NL batting champ was a career Indian before getting bumped up). So be happy with what you got and travel the 2-3 hrs it takes to get to Chicago or Cincy if you really want some baseball.

I am from and live in Indiana and would love to see a team in Indy but i just don't see it happening

The closeness to Chicago and Cincinnati basically make it extremely unlikely. Anyhow it would spoil the distinction Indianapolis has of being a pennant winner the last time they had a major league team.

No, I can't see it. At least not with the current revenue system. Too close to small market teams in Cinti and Cleveland. Even White Sox are like a small market team and they are in a BIG market.

Indy can support an NFL and NBA team because they have revenue sharing and salary caps in those leagues.

No. It just isn't the right market for a baseball team.

Places like Portland, Oregon/Las Vegas, Nevada/Oklahoma City, Oklahoma all have better chances of obtaining a franchise if the Marlins or someone else were to move.

I can't see that happening. There isn't enough interest in indy for that kind of thing. I mean face it do the pacers get a lots of people to see their games? no. The colts are and will always be the lone team in indy

No. Why not? Because I can't see anything in Indianapolis worth a darn...including the Bolts.

Dude, get real.

That would never happen.

Why? They wouldnt have a big enough fan base.
You think The Devil Rays have problems drawing fans?
Indy would be twice as bad.
