What would u say is better The depo shot or the ortho pill. I've done the shot for years and it took me a year to get pregnant after getting off of it. I still use it now and I've been gaining weight its like I never get full. So some one told me to do the ortho pill. Would u agree?

It depends on what suits your needs better. The ortho pill can cause weight gain also. The amount of weight gain varies from person to person and so do the effects.
The best solution would be to discuss it with your physician. She/he knows your medical history and can help you decide if a change may be needed; IE what the best medication would be for you.

Everyone reacts differently to Depo. But I had a friend who was on it and she also gained a lot of weight. I personally have found something that I love. It is called Seasonale. It is a pill that you take daily, but instead of having a period every month...you have one every 3 months! If you don't mind taking a pill every day....this is a great alternative. I have not noticed any weight gain while being on it. You may have a little break thru bleeding while your body is adjusting to it....but I have had no ill side effects. I love it!!!

I will say try the pill or the patch the shot I didn't like either too many bad side affects the pills are good as long as you remember to take them the patch is cool too the only side effect I had was a little irritation from it being on my skin but after a while I got used to it. the nuva ring is another one is cool I just couldnt deal with trying to put it in and take it out .Had very long nails.

I will wholeheartedly say DO NOT USE THE DEPO SHOT!

I was on it for four years and it was horrible. After five years you need a bone density check as it seriously messes with your bone health.

I am on Kariva now (pill) and am loving it.

uh, there has got to be something wrong with those things. and there is not a hundred percent chance that you wouldn't get pregnant on those things. and if you get pregnant, your period ain't gonna take the time to inform you.
