No, bipolar is considered a "disability," NOT a "minority." A disability enables you to access what you need. Minority status means that, traditionally, you have been denied access to the goods you need. Or something like that.

If it is on record as being diagnosed then you would be considered disabled by the Americans with Disabilities Act. If I am correct and I may not be, minority status is determined by Race, ethnicity, or sex. But under the ADA you are considered a protected class.

A minority in this regard is a race/gender. Bi-polar is a disability, not a race/gender.

A race/gender other then the race/gender with the largest number in a given population, is what the DOL is meaning by minority.

i really don't think so. the best you can get is disability but even that is hard to prove and why would you want to be labeled. bipolar people can function well as long as they're monitered by a doctor and take their meds...
