I don't know about federal, but I had a friend that didn't show up in Hays, and they got hauled in by the cops. I think they had to pay a 1,000 dollar fine.

Only if it is federal court. If you skip jury duty in the district where you reside, it is a state offense. You will likely be held in contempt of court, and made to pay a fine. Depends on what sort of mood the judge is in.

Kansas can't make laws about federal juries.

skipping jury duty is an offence in Any state. just go. the chances of getting picked are slim and its an excused day.

yes its an offense in federal court, otherwise its a state offfense
