if people knows the answer then why should they ask them in the first place

agreement... youve never asked someone to agree with you. you just asked a dumb (not dum) question.... isnt the answer obvious. you just asked for attention and reassurance.... haha.

Most people don't know the answer, they just have an opinion or theory.

They use YA to research whether their view is right, whether they've missed some angle, to gauge other opinions or just to make a point and hide it behind a question mark.

The dumbest are the ones where the person can't spell or use proper grammer. Questions like that make them nearly impossible to understand.

Its called a rhetorical question.

You ask a question in order to make a point. Its a common
technique.
