I think you will find it is the same feeling children get when the lights go out and they are alone. Dont let your imagination get the better of you. Stretch your whole body then relax your toes then your legs and in your mind work your way all up your body relaxing each part and before you know it you will be totally relaxed and able to fall asleep. Goodnight, sweet dreams.

Yes it is a ghost- they are everywhere like cockroaches. You have to keep everything very clean and your body too. They attach them self to the mode of ignorance. (Uncleanliness, fallen hair, nails, dust, cobwebs, unclean mind(negative thoughts etc). They are disembodied souls. Anyone who commits suicide, or dies abruptly or is murdered becomes a ghost. Also if a body is not cremated they can become a ghost because people are so attached to their physical body that at the time of death they stick around until the body is cremated. Go to harekrishnatemple. Read Bhagavad Gita as it is to know more about the soul and reincarnation and karma etc.

Yeh, this is fairly common. I used to get it at Uni. It's just a sort of panic attack. I'd imagine that you're under a fair amount of stress at the moment. Talk to someone about it. If you don't have a friend you can trust, go and chat with your GP, ask for a referral to a counsellor.

Cheers.

This same thing happened to a friend of mine. I think it has to do with your body going into a state of temporary paralysis, so you can't get up and move around while you are asleep (and possibly hurt yourself...tripping, falling, walking outside, etc.). My friend said it felt like someone was next to him, close to his head...strange and scary. (And no one was in the room with him.)

Perhaps it's fear or paranoia. Look at the evidence there is no one in the room, tell yourself that over and over. :o) Maybe have a chat to your doc x

Heavily medicating yourself before bedtime greatly reduces these types of occurrences.

Try not to eat anything passed 7PM and take a book of a happy story with you to bed !

you're actually in twilight...on the edge of sleep and the other body you sense is your own...you are having a partial out of body experience
