I'm in a state that's had a facility recently quarantined. Our bran mgr just made it mandatory everyone get Rhino booster shots. I'm a bit concerned about the type of vaccine and if it can aggrevate symptoms in 'carrier' horses.

Also, please share if you've personally experienced an outbreak and seen horses survive/ die from this.

I understand the necessary measures in preventing spreading (bleach, clothing changes, etc.) I'm looking for those w/1st hand experience in treating horses (first symptoms, treatment, success/ recovery/ usefulness after infection, etc.)

Thanks.

Make sure your vet uses the live version of the vaccine and remember that they are only good for two months. I am in Maryland and we have had outbreaks recently at the racetracks and have been quarantined. The symptoms will be fever, possibly coughing, unsteadyness. Horses do survive with quick detection and continue to be usefull in their diciplines. There were several, I believe 5 or 6 that were put down because of infection. Prevention though is your best bet. Your barn should be safe if they quarantine NOW... No new horses in... and no one going out and coming back untill things are under control in your area. Good Luck, it's a scary thing.

I personally have never had any first hand experience with it, but this is what one of my books (which is quite good) has to say about it:

"Two vaccines have been developed against viral rhino.. One containing inactivated or killed virus is recommended for use in pregnant mares to prevent abortion and for respiratory illness in all horses. The other vaccine is a modified live virus product and is an aid in prevention of the respiratory form of infection. Immunity or protection provided by both types of immunization is not 100 percent effective or of long duration. Neither vaccine seems to protect against the neurological form."

Hope this helped.

With a negative try, its in all probability that you've been not pregnant. sessions will replace each and every now and then, over the technique the perfect 6 -7 yrs I actually have lengthy gone from 25 day cycles to 32 day cycles. in case your next cycle is late, or different, or once you've any discharge or bleeding between sessions, see a dr. being pregnant or not, there might want to be themes which may reason odd sessions that you opt for to get appeared at.
