Federer has not playing any of the tournaments before Australian Open. Not playing any tournaments fir two months is he ready for the opponents?

He did play in the Kooyong Classic which he eventually lost to Andy Roddick in 3 sets. It's an invitational tournament though, and he also lost it last year, that time to Tommy Haas. I don't think he underestimates any of his chief rivals, particularly Roddick and Nadal. And remember that the Aussie Open is a real test of fitness and I think he's the fittest of them all on the ATP, and has the best mental game too; not getting distracted by other players' on-court antics.

The Kooyoong Classic may not count officially as a tournament, but it featured a very tough competition with Roddick and Safin participating. In fact, Federer was beaten 2-6 6-3 3-6 by Roddick in the final, so there is no chance that he is going to underestimate his opponents.

actually, Federer recently played the Kooyong exhibition tournament which he lost the final to Roddick.

he may not have played a lot but he has played a couple over the last couple of weeks, but he is by far the best player in the world and i`m sure he`s been preparing as well as usual as he is the ultimate professional
