Amazing Man vs The Absorbing Man?

Much as I like Will Everett (and admire his performance in the Olympics), I am afraid that Crusher will take him. Will got his powers from a conventional ‘scientific’ source, an overloaded cyclotron, in what the comics world usually refers to as a ‘radiation accident’ Crusher Creel got his powers from Asgardian magic. I recall that the Absorbing Man grew as large as a building on at least one occasion, when Thor threw him into the side of a building. His wrecking ball was then the size you’d actually see swinging from a crane!

Basically, their weaknesses and limitation are very similar. But Creel is vicious and twisted. Having been tough enough to give Thor a good fight (by absorbing the uru energy from Mjolnir), Creel is capable of absorbing magic, which we have not seen Will doing. Creel’s power seems more versatile, and so, unless other evidence is forthcoming, I’d place my money on him.

But hey, here’s an idea. Let’s get them together with Rogue and the female Parasite and they can ‘make love not war’…!

Crusher is tough as the Absorbing Man but he lets his temper get the better of him and often will be tricked such as:

a) Absorbing something that will make him disappate like steam or air or water.

b) Gets scared if he becomes something breakable like glass, then turns back to his old form.

c) Turns into somthing that can be negated, radioactive, hit with lead.

So if Amazing Man baits him he can outthink him.

Oh man! no contest! Crusher Creel all the way! In my mind, one of the COOLEST marvel characters EVER! A blue collar guy with a ball and chain who can absorb the properties of anything he touches!

If Crusher Creel can go toe to toe with the likes of Thor and The Hulk, I think he would ***** slap Amazing Man!
