I am writitng a book and i was wondering if anyone has any informaiton on what is the next step once the book is finish. I am concerned about finding a publisher, and gettign the book out there. I guess it would help if you have written a book or you know someone who has, a website would be helpful but i would rather hear it out of the horses mouth. I love hearing other people experiences rather than reading about it.

an agent is ideal, but not necessary at the start. Submit to publishers that read unsolicited manuscripts (ie not requiring an agent), you probably won't get picked up right away, but you never know. Main thing to remember, money flows TO the author, any publisher that asks for money upfront is not something you want to deal with (ie vanity publishing). IF and when you do find a publisher that's interested, then an agent might be in order to deal with all the legal aspects of publishing.

Pick up a Writer's market mag, something like Writer's Digest and start subbing to publishers.

Good luck

You will have to send your manuscript to a publisher. (or several). If they decide to publish it, they will take care of everything. Don't b e discouraged if they don't want it, just keep sending it until someone does.
