Why do people like to argue that they are different than animals?EVERY single thing on this planet eats,f**ks,sleeps, and will die.If we are superior or the chosen race wouldnt it make sense that we should be immortal?Every single animals has it's own natural defense.Ours is our intelligence a birds would be the ability to fly and a bears would be it's brute power. My ability to reason this question does not mean that I am better than a spider does it?

More than that why do people think they have the right to control animals? Is it arrogance?Or are people simply unaware of themselves?

Calling me a hippie or a tree hugger wont cut it so if you disagree please respond with your opinions and not something stupid.

okay, well i dont want to argue, but in some ways i agree with you and others i dont. i think we are very very similar to some species. we just ...well communicate different and have more ability to use our resources and manipulate them to help ourselves. true, we do all have our own defenses..as well as weaknesses. i mean ...we (humans) do have quite a few weaknesses. but animals are more emphasized i suppose...i mean, apes..are actually quite intellegant in my opinion. they just dont develop as quick i guess. they adapt and do to help just themselves to survive. and we adapt and try to make the whole world do as we say...i dont agree with the fact that government takes down whole fricken forests (no i am not a tree hugger either, i just dont think its right) and takes out tons of habitats..just to keep humans alive! well a tip for the government...if pplz would quit having kids..mayb we wouldnt b in that situation. but looking at it through that view, how many ppl think t hat is fair? not very many..=/ well idk if this helped at all, but i hope it did

Check out the theory of anthropomorphism...... it suggests that human characteristics such as dreams, anticipations, ambition etc are not present in other animal forms. That is primarily the difference between the two..... Bible bangers will profess to have the adherent right to control animals because they were directed to be the care-takers of all living things by the bible.

Personally.... the only control I want over animals is from the preservsationist point of view.

At first I didn't understand your point. I think mankind is more important in the eyes of God than the animals because Jesus didn't die for the animals, He died to save us. But now that I've read your whole question, I agree with you. Who are we to control the animals? We do a terrible job of taking care of them and their habitat. We poach and slaughter them for money without a thought to their rareness, whether they have babies or even that they are living creatures that we need to protect. Sometimes I am ashamed to be a human being.

Differences between humans and animals:
ANIMALS eat, sleep, mate and defend.
HUMANS eat, sleep, mate, defend and think. Of all the living entities that inhabit these material universes, humans are the only ones who can think and therefore enquire about the GOAL OF LIFE.
