For instance...instead of the center snapping to the QB..can he just push forward to let's say...collect inches for the next first down?

Yes. The QB has to touch the ball first though, then the center may take it back and move forward as a running back.

Yes he could. However, the quarterack must touch the ball first. If it's a passing play, the ref must be notified that he is an eligable reciever. The quarterback could also just hand the ball back to the center. Neither are good ideas, though, because the center is responsible for blocking the defensive nose tackle, who would either sack the quarterback or tackle the center on a pass or run, respectively. The center CANNOT fumble the ball purposely to pick it up, though. He alson cannot just pick up the ball and run. It clearly states in the rules that the ball must be snapped at the start of eack play. It does not say that the snap must be between the legs or to the quarterback. The center could just toss the ball to a reciever from the side, like a kid in touch football.

No, the center cannot move forward to collect yardage. If he is to be an eligible receiver, the ref must be informed prior to the play. However, he must snap the ball to the QB and then throw it to the center.

Yes as long as the QB has possession and then loses it first. The play is called a center sneak.

Nope it itsnt legal after middle school since that if it was 4th and inches and the coach called a "center keep" they would automaticly get the first down.

yes if the qb touches the ball first so he would snap it, the qb would tap it, then he could pick up yards
