Kids to get answers to their history homework?

I think a lot of kids try to use it that way. When I provide answers I try to provide an idea of where to get information, or give a quick summary, or clarify stuff. I try not to just give out answers when it's obvious someone is just copying questions from HW.

There is a category for help with homework, this isn't it. While some people do provide such answers, there are some people who provide answers which appear valid but are in error.

You would be far better off to dev elop your own answers. Doing so would have the side benefit of actually helping you learn. Just accepting the answer from someone who may be lying to you, won't help your education.

It is possible to get the answers but you are at the mercy of those who will give the answer. Nothing beats actually studying because they will learn more by reading and studying than just asking a bunch of Yahoos for an answer.
When a person studies they actually remember what they read for a longer period of time. When justasking a question that you really do not care about the answer will only stay as long as it is needed.

I'm not so sure it matters where kids get their answers from (as long as the answers are correct).
There's not much difference between looking for the answer in a book (checking the index) and going onto Yahoo answers to ask.
And the sources that (most) people provide for factual questions can give kids even more info than they were looking for.

My own answer is yes. Let the kids come in, ask their questions, and most of us will try our best to help them out. There is a small claque of smartypants who say "Do your own homework." These people get two points for "answering" a question. Let me suggest that you "accompany" your kids into "History" and chaperone. If anyone offers abuse, report the person in "Abuse."

No. They need to do their homework and learn the basics. This form is best for people who need either simple answers or want to discuss a specific topic.

It's a place for guidance to get you to your goal. A litle homework help is fine, but no one should just give you the answer.
