Well, I have looked pretty well throughout the whole FDA website, and found no where that it states that they cannot be eaten. The place in Cali were fined for selling because they were not disclosing that it was cat or dog. That is against the law. But, I can't find anywhere that is says it is illegal to consume them.

Also, the FDA only governs the sale of foods. If you wish to raise dogs or cats at you home and eat them, that is not illegal.

On a side note, I ate cat when I was stationed in Italy. It tasted much like rabbit. We tried dog when we were in port in Thailand. It is much like beef, but has a different taste. There isn't anything I can think of to compare it to.

It's most likely illegal to kill a dog/cat but legal to eat a dog/cat that's already dead. Why in the world someone would want to do this is beyond me.

And the reason most people aren't including URLs is probably because (1) the law is going to vary by state and no one is going to be able to look up each state's law and (2) I seriously doubt that there is actually a provision in any state code about *eating* a dog/cat.

honestly not. Your least confusing source to tap into is the itemizing of guidelines on your certain state. each and every state has guidelines to guard animals from abuse and/or ignore - and the killing of canines and cats, for in spite of reason, is investigated with information out of your close by county/state authorities, till carried out interior a vet's area. Animal shelters, humane society businesses, and similar businesses are others accessible components of suggestions.
