I work in a garage and the tire machine i use is old, and on some rims it will scratch, and on thoes one, i usually have them sent to another shop, or if that is unable to do, i usually put a pad inbetween, I have never had a problem with scratching rims, but if i were you, i would DRIVE THAT CAR back to the shop and show them the damage done to the rims, DO NOT bring them pictures and leave the car and drive another one there, THEY will want to see the damage and then they will deal with it. They may need to keep the car for a wile and have the rims sent out for repair. TELL the shop what happened and then let them deal with it, they want to know if you are unsatisifed, they will make things right.

1 the guy that changed the tire should of told you IF the rim was damaged BEFORE he changed the tire its the mechanics responsibility to inspect the rim BEFORE he does any work on it. you're screwed because he can say the rim was damaged BEFORE he changed the tire and you have no evidence to prove it, unless you have a picture. chalk this up as a lesson learned and dont get screwed again

it was there tire machine for sure ,,when they put your tires on the part of the tire machine arm that sits right up beside your rim and when they turned it ,it was to close and touching your rim and scratched it all the way around close to the lip of the rim
its the mechanics fault for not being care full enough..
but its the shop that is liable for the damage.
