26 years ago...when I was going down the wrong road (grew up in a very disfunctional home)...I met a man with strong morals, that seen something in me that I didn't see in myself...He was kind, loving, supportive and very much a friend (first person in my whole life that was interested in hearing my pain)...anyhow, we have been married for 25 years...even though I don't think I am always a prize (because I can really be bratty at times)...he does...treats me like gold. And the amazing thing is isn't some needy loser...he just is a true gem...one in a million. That's the luckiest thing that has happened to me...after the Lord of course...but the luckiest thing here on earth. :)

Went to Mcdonalds stoned with only a dollar and ten cents for a hamburger and a knife and we got free milkshakes cuz someone drive off :)~ Stoner heaven.
Also, not following some man we met in the park on the Max train, out to the middle of nowhere, when looking for a place to sleep while homeless - would have been bad but not sure why
Also too many times to count, maybe not getting killed when riding in the truck of an uninsured car being driven by a 14 without a liscense - or not starving to death on a mountain in Colorado - so many intentional and unintentional overdoses. Guess I'm just lucky to be sitting here with a working liver. :)

I'm not sure I believe in luck! If luck exists, I'm not lucky at all! Can barely win an argument. BUT where I haven't planned for it to happen..........here's what did, so if that is luck...
1) On my dad's birthday when I was about 8, my mum took me to a concert. Hadn't got my dad a present and it was the first time I felt guilty or conscious of not .....They were selling raffle tickets and my number came up. Only it was the wrong colour ticket! BUT the were so moved by my tears in not having the right colour ticket to win my dad some fags on his birthday, they lied and changed the winning ticket colour to mine!
2) Probably most influential on my life was me having always planned to work for 20 years then stop work and start a family. Just as I was about to give in my notice (after 20 years), they asked for voluntary redundancies! YAAAAAAY!
3) At age 40, having given up on having children and now redundant, thinking about how could I overcome my lifelong phobia about learning to drive..... I fell pregnant, a friend who was made redundant at the same time who had become a driving instructor contacted me.....plus my fear of being stuck at home in an emergency, I started driving lessons at 3 months pregnant and passed my test first time at 6 months pregnant! Had a good incentive though, I was so huge, I couldn't afford to wait for a re-sit or I'd never have fit behind the wheel!
Is that luck? I've played the lottery every week since it began and so far have won a grand total of £50.
But in the everyday sense, I consider myself lucky to have a loving, employed partner, a roof over my head, don't have to work and have a healthy, gorgeous 4 yr old who now attends school full time so I get some me time too! THAT'S LUCKY!

The luckiest thing that ever happened to me was a blessing and is knowing Jesus Christ and His love for me.

When I was in 5th grade... of course... I was in 5th grade math! I really wanted to move up the 7th grade math class. So, I got 3 100%s in a row on tests and took a few harder tests, passed em, and moved up! Then the teacher gave me another test that was super hard. I guessed on almost all of the ?s. Then suddenly the teacher said to go to the 8th grade math class. I was shocked! I had no idea I geussed enough correctly to move up that high!

When I realised that I have a guardian Angel, I have lost count of the times, when I could have done something on the roads, I have chosen not to, and vroooooom something has happened, and I know had I taken the other decision, I would not be sitting here right now!!!
