Given Philadelphia's reputation for being critical of our sports teams, does the lack of news columns and fan unrest toward the Flyers management seem eerie in a way?

They've been presenting to us versions of the Broad Street Bullies for 32 years and they have been consistently unable to win it all since the Canadiens showed them the sign of the times. I am certainly grateful that they won two Stanley Cups, but even I know that they took the league by surprise.

Nonetheless, my point is that his insistence on getting players that are too big, too underskilled, too long in the tooth and his impatience with young players not only fails to win the Cup again, but has led them to the mediocrity that they now experience. Sure, Clarkie made the trades, and indirectly helped other teams win the championship over the years, but Big Ed co-signed the deals.

Philly is backed by Comcast money and 4th largest market in the NHL, the Pens might move, but who has had the better skilled players?

The Flyers have been unable to adapt to the NHL way of things since 1976, the constant has been Ed Snider. I say he should retire to California.

An an Ottawa fan, I think you guys, like us, have had a gr8 team for some time but sadly, you have less than one now.

I suspect, that you'll have a great team again soon.

Pens are good right now. They've been a horrible team for so long that they got quite alot of top players.

They have a talented core of players. If only they'd work on surrounding them with sound talent and not near retirees.

Forsberg, when he finally put his ankle probs behind him, will be a force for a while yet. Just look at Selanne.
Gagne, Carter are definite talents along with Pitkanen on defense are a good core. Calder is good as well but cracked under the pressure, he's still young.

Nitty and Esche are both good goalies but they have an old and much too slow defensive core in front of them.

The biggest problem is Sinden being much too meddlesome and that Clarke really f'd up coming out of the lockout.
