It sounds like regardless of how you handle the situation this guy will be gone soon enough with his attitude.
But in the meantime you should do your best to not let him do any harm to your career. Don't let yourself get involved in any kind of mud slinging or fighting with him over things. Just keep a mature and professional attitude and I think this will make you look that much better compared to him.

Arrive 15 minutes early to work... before he gets there and turn his computer on... go to yahoo and search for the filthiest porn sites you can find... click on as many as you can... they will be saved in his history file on Internet Explorer or Mozilla... turn it off so he doesn't know and then wait for him to get to work ! Later in the day, tell the boss you saw him looking at porn on his computer... and the rest is history ! Oh, and placing a pint of Jack Daniels in his desk wouldn't hurt...

By the sounds of it you only have a week or two left to put up with him! But if he is bothering you this much then you need to ask your manager for you to be moved to sit elsewhere. There's always one! In every job you get.

Tell you boss that your work performance is not what it could be because of your co-worker. You feel that giving less then 100% is not fair to the comapny and if they would like to keep you and have you perform at 100% that one of you must be moved.

This is a hard one to solve. Is there any need for you to talk with him? If not then I would try and ignore him completely.Just blank him. You could tell him first why you intend to do this. He will see you are serious then. I hope things work out for you

Ask the boss if you can sit somewhere else. If not, have the boss monitor him, catch him in the act, and show him out the door.

get a dictaphone device or similar: every time he is rude to you ask him politely to repeat himself as you didnt understand him, continue to fail to understand him any time he speaks rudely, on the third repitition turn on the dictaphone and ask him to say his request into it (with it on so that it is clear that you are telling him you are recording). this will wind him up like anything and he'll soon be shouting at your dictaphone. hey presto evidence for your boss of his abusive behaviour (sacking time)

Loosen the screws to his chair....... hopefully he'll fall off and break his back.
Or just don't talk to him, or move desks, or be really nice so that he has no reason to be mean to you, or spike his coffee with laxatives.
Actually......... be really nice for a week, and ask to make him coffee after a few days - then spike it.

WOW sorry to hear that.
GO and tell your boss that you honestly NEED TO MOVE IMMEDIATELY.
Explain to your boss that you really believe that he is creating a HOSTILE WORK ENVIORMENT FOR YOU and that you are finding it hard to work next to him.
(be sure to use the words "hostile work enviornment" as they are buzz words for "I MIGHT HAVE TO SUE YOUR AZZES"
If he does not listen, go over his head.
They already know that he is a problem so it might be your request that pushes them to FINALLY act.
GOOD LUCK
dont let him ruin YOUR career!
