When I first met my husband it was at work, so at first I didn't know he smoked. He brushed his teeth all the time and chewed cinnamon gum, so smell wasn't a problem. Besides, he promised he was going to quit.
Fast forward to the present and things are not the same. He has become very foul in his habit. The smell is atrocious. I resent the fact that I find pinched cigarette butts in the pockets of his pants when I do the laundry. I hate to drive his car because my hands smell like ashes after handling the steering wheel. We have been married almost nine years and we rarely kiss because of the smell and taste of his mouth.
There was always some reason why he could not pursue smoking cessation. There was always some stress in his life that had to go away first. It never got better. There was always some new stress to replace the old one.
The worst thing is that his smoking has been damaging to my own health. When he used to smoke in the house and car in my presence, I came down with bronchitis for the first time in my life. I thought the pain would kill me. He still didn't yet see the need to stop smoking around me, even in the car. Now he doesn't even smoke in the house, but I still have constant sinus irritation from the residual smoke that clings to his clothing, hair and body. He says he will quit when I get past the first trimester. That is really rude considering that I have had three 10-12 week miscarriages followed by complete infertility.
If I had it to do over, I would never marry a smoker. As he gets older I realize I resent that I will have to take care of him when smoking takes its inevitable toll on his health. There is all the help in the world available in this new millennium. Smokers can quit.

I easily have such undesirable double standards whilst it includes this, smoking could make warm adult men look warmer yet basically like once you walk previous them on the line or at a occasion- there is not any way i might date a guy that smokes. I shared a mattress with somebody as quickly as who have been smoking and it exchange into poor, i can not stand the smell. and that i think of 14 is plenty too youthful besides. in keeping with possibility on a 20 12 months previous could be warm yet relatively maximum of my female pals hate it!

When I see a guy smoking, the first thing that comes to my mind is if he's really adicted to smoking and will never quit, which isn't so great, Or if he just smokes every now and then to impress women, which is funny but what a typical man would do. If he would just be doing it to impress a girl, Then it wouln't be such a bad thing. THINK TWICE !!!

since i don't smoke i would never be with someone who would.
in general i think folks who smoke and are under the age of 30 had to have some pretty low self-esteem to knowingly start an addiction that could kill them. i mean everyon under 30 has been bombarded with the say no to drugs message so ...
and folks who smoke who have never tried to quit must really be in good health otherwise or they are just dumb. i cannot see any logic in not trying at least. if you fail that is one thing, but i have never met a smoker who didn't try to quit at least once.

I think it's gross. I could never be with a guy who smokes since I can't stand the smoke from people who smoke. When someone smokes around me I get sick to my stomach. I thaink God my husband doesn't smoke. Even though we both have family memebers who do I can't stand the smoke.

hey! I think its gross. Their breath can be disgusting and their hair, clothes and skin stink as well. Asking a guy to brush his teeth before kissing is considered nagging... :o)
But, I have had b/f's who smoked, but at that time I smoked as well. I used to think some guys looked hot while they smoked!
Gees! What was I thinking! ;p SO glad I quit... 7 years ago!

Personally, I don't like guys who smoke. It is unattractive and a turn off to me because I already suffer from asthma. Besides, I don't want to kiss an astray, cuddle with someone is stinks of smoke, and don't take their health into consideration.

I dont mind them, but I could never date a guy who smokes. It smells bad and gives them bad breath, and I cant even breathe when someone is smoking near me. Its pretty horrible, Id be friends with a smoker, but not date them. I dont want to kiss or make love to an ash tray...
