I agree. He's in the latter stages of his career. I don't think the premiership would guarantee that things go his way. With L.A Galaxy, its a win win situation- Millions in advertising deals, and even if the team loses, he raises the profile of the MLS.

He expects a top wage, and none of the really rich prem clubs would be really interested- Chelsea are back on winning ways, and Man Utd- well... don't even go there!
Also, the premiership is a bit hectic for an old man like him!

I never heard of an America soccer team before or new any names as we do in Europe. Yeh Americans plays football and Beckam is a great player but it looks like thats the last most people will see of him at all in this country

I just don't understand how a soccer team in the U.S. can afford to pay one person that much money. I am a huge sports fan, and not a single person I associate with bothers with soccer. It's just not big here.

at the end of the day, its for him and victoria to decide, i doubt hes going to read yahoo answers and say "oh, he/she doesnt want me to go, i'd better go back to england/stay in spain/quit football/die" however funny it might be.
