What type of material did they use for the door. The reason I'm asking this is because I'm making a movie, and would very much like to drive a car through a garage door without it scratching up the car.

Make the door our of painted plywoods pieced together to make it fly into pieces on contact

Then open the door first.

Balsa wood behaves in a simelar way but not quite the same. Dont use nails. BTW. they probably used cgi for the door.

My dad used to say 'one scratch one the car means three days in hospital for you'.

They probably used a big poster that looks like a garage door

they probably used some type of cardboard that could break into pieces to give it that effect that he smashed through and debri flew everywhere.

its probably styrofoam with a really good paint job
