I just moved out on my own about 3 weeks ago and even though I am loving the experience, I feel different. Does it take a while to get use to beign on your on? Its just everything is so different now. Not as much noise, all the time I want, and kind of like lonely. I miss my parents because we got a long great but it is really different watching football games by myself, waking up and no one to talk to except my dog, doign my own dinner and stuff. Does this take some time to actually make this new place of mine feel like home?

Definately....when my oldest move out, she spent more time here at home for the first month then she did when she actually lived here!! Then she started getting into decorating her place, got a pet and having friends over. It does take time, because it's a HUGE change from what you've been use to your entire life! It will be OK after a few more weeks. She will still make "excuses" to come over when there is a thunderstorm, though. I don't make a big deal about it, it's all about adjustment.
She still comes over and raids my deep freezer and canned goods. I just turn a blind eye........lol!

You could invite friends or family over. My oldest son just moved into his own apartment. He has friends over sometimes and has even had his grandmother and dad over for dinner one night! Even if you can't afford much as far as food, spaghetti dinner is pretty inexpensive. Or you could invite friends over for those games and tell each of them to bring their favorite drink and a snack for all to share. You could also spend time out with friends if you are lonely at home. Your parents might enjoy a visit from you too. I know I make time for my son when he comes by. I hope this helps. It's a great accomplishment to be able to be out on your own and pay your own bills! Best of luck!

Yes, it takes some time, and you are probably a bit homesick still. You'll get over it when some hot young thing spends the night and walks around your place naked the next morning, etc. It's a trade off, but keep busy, and you can still hit mom and dad up for dinner now and then.

yes you will get used to it and you will love it.
the peace. independent feeling
I was 18 when I moved out and I have loved it all the way.
You now will have to really grow up and be responsible.
This will be your test of life ...
Have a few friends over at times.

You will get use to living on your own, I went from my parents house to the dorms, to a hospital, to back at home, to my own house, to a stupid camp, to a house with my siblings, to a house on my own, them to an apartment with 2 of my siblings, then on my own, then to another apartment with my siblings, then to a house with a sibling, so yeah I kind of hated living on my own, but then now since I live with siblings I want to live on my own aparment. It's a cruel cycle.
