I have a desktop and another desktop and they are right near each other. Both have internel modems, and I want to be able to use the internet on both, at the same time. I own enough cords to plus into the wall, but I only own one phone line. I know this will make browsing, and everything else really slow, but I don't care. PLEASE help me! :) (I want DSL but my mom won't get it)

No, the connection will be too slow to receive information from ISP, both computer will drag this process to the stone age. Best bet is to sell Moms on the dsl, has alot of good features like using the phone and the Internet at the same time-no more missed calls, plus you will be able stream media and music across the line and get information and updates instantly( almost, compared to dial-up instantly), Good luck

Two on the same line, NO, but useing the desktop to dial the internet and a cross-over network cable or cables and a hub to lnetwork the computers together, yes.
In network porperties, of the dial-up connection, go to the sharing properties and enable sharing- it will then take the internet in through the modem and share it out to the network card... on the laptop, hook up the network cable and run the internet connection wizard- choose the network connection for the connection and let the internet flow from the desktop to the laptop...
It works pretty well, just still slow...

Basic answer: "NO"

You cannot have two computers with two modems dial out on the same phone line AT the SAME time.

You can CONNECT the two computers together using ethernet NIC cards and a cross-over cable, you now have a LAN. NOW, have one of the computers use dial-up. That dial-up connection can be SHARED so that other computers on your LAN can also use that dial-up connection to surf the web.

There is something called "Internet Connection Sharing" which enables a Windows computer to share its Internet connection with computers on local area networks.

Check out the Microsoft site for more information about how to setup and use ICS at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310563 .

Information is given to you, how you want to use it, is up to you.
