They can adapt their colour to their surroundings, humans can't. There are lots of animals in the world that can do things that humas can't. Why do we think we are the best and most successful species in the world?????

Michael Jackson has changed colour. I'm not sure he's more advanced because of it though.....

No. Chameleons cant talk or use tools, they dont make love for fun, they cannot make fire, etc etc.

They are just well adapted for their surroundings, thats all.

Squid can change colours too, do you think they are more advanced than us?

Yes, we are the most 'successful' species, we have travelled to every continent because we have the advanced brains to develop technology to enable us to do so, no matter the climate.

Its just a shame weve trashed the planet in doing so.

At the end of the day, we are just a little dot in the evolution of the planet. Dinosaurs were the top dog 65 million years ago, Im sure our day will come when we get replaced, but in the meantime, we are the most succesful currently.

"More/Less" "Better/Worse" these ideas have no meaning in evolution. They imply that evolution is heading somewhere, that it is going in a certain direction to a certain end. Evolution only adapts something to it's surroundings, so most creatures by the sheer fact that they exist are perfectly evolved to their current environment. Chameleons may change color, but they can't move as fast as a pig or survive in the cold like a penguin or make tools like humans. The answer to your second question is more complicated, but the majority of people who are educated or enlightened or thoughtful realize that we may not be the most successful species, but we are the most successful species at being human and filling the human niche.

Evolution has nothing to do with progress or advancement.
Survival of optimally adjusted specimens and their offspring and sexual preference within a species have shaped the animal kingdom, from frogs to humans.
Why we think we are the best? Because we have managed to shape our environment in the last 200 years to a degree that threatens the very survival of the planet? Phantastic achievement!

I think a lot of this woolly thinking is caused by the refusal of so many humans to see themselves as just another species of ape, as part of nature. Instead they see nature as something that has to be "conquered" and themselves as the be all and end all, infinitely superior to any other animal.

No. Why? Animals do not have a conscience to plan things ahead, whereas humans can and actually do that. Animals have instincts such as knowing when an earthquake will happen, when to fly south for the winter, and gathering food for their offspring. They just don't plan birthday parties and career plans etc...

I'm not sure whether I would be happy to live with a person that rolled their eyes backwards, and grabbed flies from my house plants with a 12ins tongue! Worse still, because of camouflage, you would never know from which direction they would be coming.
No, I think humans, although somewhat shifty sometimes, make much more satisfactory evolutionary solutions.

"If the evolutionary clock began an identical time for all species" -- there is not any such element as an "evolutionary clock." in terms of time in the international, some species have been around plenty longer than others. needless to say. "why are people so stepped forward in numerous factors?" -- there is not any such element as "stepped forward" in terms of evolution. it is a count of well-being to atmosphere, not a count of drawing near some imaginary objective. And in terms of well-being, undergo in ideas that cockroaches have been around plenty longer than people, and it is surprisingly much particular they are going to be right here long as quickly as we are long previous. So who's "stepped forward" now?

animals can do things that humans can't...because they are all things that humans don't need to do. why do animals run faster than us, or hear better than us, or see better than us? because they have to in order to survive. we dont need those things to survive because we are on the top. sure chameleons can change color...but thats pretty much all they have....i dont see any lizards talking or building nations, lol
