I'm referring to the two games I bought, Call of Duty 3 and Blazing Angels. Each should EASILY carry chat for online play, and do on other consoles...but don't do so on PS3.

Why not???

Sony was reported to be late in the ball game in providing game developers the necessary tools to make their games. It was reported that Sony has developed a reputation of not treating the game developers well. This differs from Microsoft -- being a software company.

I'm assuming that the features that you support (e.g. online chat) was one of the features the game developers weren't able to include in time for launch.
