I'm thinking of getting an ipod and on the requirements section of the page on the best buy website, it says that your USB port must be USB 2.0. The USB port on my computer is 1.1. will the ipod nano work with my computer??

Yes, they are backwards compatible but your upload and download rates will eb drastically decreased.

when you upload music and you download music there is something called a compression rate. it is when takes the songs from the CD or iTunes and puts it on to ur ipod how much it is compressed so it will hold the maximum memmory. it should still work it just might be a little slower. but to be sure you should check with a best buy person just to be sure but it just might make it a little slower. it is not the size of the usb either it is the rate at which things can go off and on it. good luck hope it works. there is no problem at all it will definitially work. it works on mine and it will work on yours. but some info on the nano, the old one scratches easily but the new one is a very good one and i would get that one. (i vothed thumbs up on ur question :)

Yes, I'm very certain it will work but here's the deal. It might say USB 2.0 because 2.0 ports somtimes give out more power. It will charge your iPod very slowly if u have 1.1. So get an external AC charger. And of course it wont send data as fast as 2.0

Yes the ipod will work, but when you transfer songs, it will do it but slower.

yes but it is not going to transfer and charge as fast as it say it does...i.e if it says its going to fully charge in 4 hr its probobly going to charge in more than that time.
