My daughter has been begging me for a belly piercing and double piercings on the earlobes. should I give in and let her feel the pain?
or should I strictly forbid her?

Earlobes - yes.
Navel - no. Too young.

Why not let her get each ear pierced once now, and in a year or two get the second piercing to her ears? It will give her something to look forward to, a symbol of growing up.
I would save the the belly button piercing until she is at least 16.
If you out right forbid her to do these things, it may make this a battleground and entrench her idea that she MUST have the piercings. At 10 though, she might just be pushing to see how much she can get you to agree to.
I think that it is good to allow her some freedom, but also put up some barriers.

For god's sakes. A 10 Years old begging U to let her so what??????????? Please be a sane mommy. Think about it, really! REALLY think. what kins of person will she grow up to be. What's next mommy, I want a tatoo, PLEAZE. Or mommy I want birth control. I can understans her piercing her ears One on each. i think as a rite of passage You'll let her do it the day she graduates from Junior high. I mean to get a double pierced. Kids today are only doing things to fit in and look cool, but the consequrnces tou our decisions of now will affect us in the future. I guarante you that. If she gets her navel pierced she'll want to show it. She'll be showing her belly and older boys will think she's a teen when she is not and she'll be dating older boys and things will happen. Do not allow her to do this unless u want her to fail in relationships. Good luck to her and You. She might be doing it to get attention. Are U goign through a divorce or divorcing? she's crying out for help. If any case She gets the piercings. she'll mature and will removed them because that is what my sister did. The trend lasted 4 months.

Draw the line somewhere. Definitely don't allow the navel piercing. In fact I'd question her reasons for wanting to do such a thing and begin straight forward conversations about the consequences of sex. The ear piercings may be OK. Reassure her that she is beautiful in her natural way and too many piercings become unattractive and raise possibilities for infections. Hopefully you won't be in the tattoo argument soon. Reassure her and help her understand she doesn't have to do it just because evryone else is.

No, I think 10 is too young for that. Maybe in Middle school for the double piercings and the navel when she's 18. Wow, I sound like a prude.

She is ten, your her parent show her comprise let her get her ears single pierced. More than likely that will all she will want. Tell her when she is older say 15 she can get the second piercing on the ear, maybe tell her she will have to pay half and for belly piercing - my rule was alway they had to pay for it themselves and be over the legal drinking age in that country (ie Canada 18 or 19 depending on which province).

Forbid her. Belly button rings are extremely painful. They always rub along your pantline and get infected very easily. They double ear piercings might be OK, but I would wait until she were a little older, maybe 12 or 13.

Don't get two holes in one ear done at the same time. If she has had her first holes in for 6 months then let her get the second holes. But as for the navel... when i was about ten I wanted mine pierced too, she will soon grow out of that stage. Also if she gets her navel pierced at ten imagine what she will get at 18...

well i got my ears pierced when i was 3 months old and my bellybutton when i was 15... I think 10 is probably too young to get a belly button piercing, but that's your call. Chances are if you improvise on the earrings then the bellybutton wont be as big of a deal to her, at least for awhile.

Sure, I would let her get her earlobes double pierced..but not the belly. I think she is way to young for that.

The ear piercings are fine since most young girls have pierced ears. However, she's too young for the belly piercing. I would hold on the belly piercing until she's much older - about 18.
