Yes I agree and there is no-one more guilty than me. You must have seen many of my comments and hatred ? But my head is coming round now to just say yes we are allies and friends. It isnt our fault we have governments that dont understand our feelings. But honestly we cant keep going all over the world trying to do things with other countries. We should be together and try to help our own. I know this sounds stupid but do you ever watch something like star trek ? I f we were together this could actually happen. We could just go and find all new places but need the world to combine to do this.

I think if you're looking for informed debate and constructive criticism then yahoo answers is possibly not the best forum......
Anyway, I shouldn't take it personally. Us Brits take the pi*s out of everyone. Have you seen the way the English and Welsh lay into each other? Blimey, Yanks get off lightly.

Yeah, well said sweetie. It really has nothing to do with the 'ordinary' people though, it's all political, take that out of the picture and everyone gets along great (apart from some losers on here who like to stir things up). I love America, I've had brilliant holidays over there and will be doing so again this year.

As a Brit I think we should always be there for one another, but when the likes of Bush and Blair get together and come up with bomb the B****s it is a poor reflection on our leaders. I am not against using force but it needs to be a measured response

There are many ignorant Brits and many stupid Yanks and once they were the best of friends with Iraq. British Royal blood once ran through the veins of German and Russian Royalty, then came the 1st World War but where has all the animosity gone? Don’t worry dear Yank, common blood transcends any situation and there is a lot of that spanning the Atlantic.

I, as a Brit, agree whole heartedly! I think that there are some younger people who come on here and give the answers you are talking about. They don't really understand how we stood by each other during World War II and how everyone wants the world to be a peaceful place for our new generations to grow up in.
Sometimes things are done, that not everyone agrees with, but better to talk about it and discuss sensibly, that rant and rave and give stupid answers, instead of stopping to think and answer in a dignified manner.
Manners cost nothing and 'Manners maketh man'

Brit? Briton surely!!
The UK and the USA are the bulwark against anarchy in the world. USA has the military muscle, UK has the diplomacy, and still a fair bite as far as the military is concerned. France, Germany, Spain, Italy - they have (despite their membership of NATO), abrogated their responsibilities in respect of world security. It is a great pity that the French have swapped the crossing of swords for croissants - Gen Rocquejoffre and his Light Division were of great use in the first Iraq war, surely playing a similar role to that of the Ariete Armoured Div of the Italian Army in Rommels's forces in the Desert war 1940-1942. Stormin' Norman was a great leader in the Iraq campaign, his excesses being tempered by the British General Sir Peter De La Billiere.
My dear Yank, I salute you, and your illustrious Nation. I hope that the UK and the USA will never fall out.
I suggest that there are issues that need addressing, however - read on.
Firstly, the prime nations that can be relied upon politically and militarily that are on our side are - USA; UK: Turkey. All the rest are hangers on, who commit nothing and still get aid from the US in terms of F16s, AMRAAMs and the rest.
Secondly, there is another Nation with a proud military tradition (particularly naval), who could undertake greater responsibility on the Asian front, to wit, Japan (Yes, Pearl Harbour and ill-treatment of POWs - we seem to have forgiven the Germans for Auschwitz and the rest, as they have forgiven us for Dresden). Japan could well be eager to take a greater role in world affairs.
So, my dear friend, we have a putative superb alliance of the USA, UK, Turkey and Japan. Frankly, bugger the rest of NATO, and, unfortunately, Israel - the Israelis are too volatile and likely to pursue their own concerns to be trusted in an alliance - (I'm no anti-semite, not with one Esther Sachs as part of my recent family tree!)
Who can do what.
USA. Provides the heavy military muscle to intervene where heavy force is needed.
UK. Uses our superb Marine and Parachute forces for rapid intervention in trouble spots - we secure a port and LZs and wait for you Yanks to come in and exploit. We also take the lead in the alliance diplomacy - let's call it Roast Beef diplomacy. Us Britons have niceties that you Yanks do not have - this is no insult to you Yanks - You guys are good on the gung ho, us lads will plead insult if the foreign ambassador does not tie his tie (not necktie!) correctly.
Turkey - A moderate Islamic state, armed to the teeth with men of a fighting tradition. They could take out Syria and Iran in about five minutes. Turkey can negotiate with Islamic States with understanding of Islam and one hell of a fist if negotiation fails.
Japan. Negotiates with North Korea and China. Power projection potential - does the US have any mothballed Aircraft Carriers that could be given to the Japanese? A couple of Forrestals with some F14s would give China and North Korea something to worry about.
Finally, O great Yank, do tell us Britons how good we are. We do like a bit of praise, and feel we have earned it. We won't be very happy if we are not given our due. At the moment, we're the only buggers who are standing by you, and we aint as rich as we were. Tell us that you love us, and say that we are your best friends, and prove it. We'll be with you in all extremis if you do..
Treat us with indifference or contempt,or with economic pressures, and we may go our own way. We'll make a start with a chain of steak and kidney pudding eateries in Wisconsin. After all, you've alraedy got Gordon Ramsay in New York.

That is a brilliant question, and agree with you. When we are on 'Questions & Answers' we do get carried away. We are more alike. America is home and has given shelter to people from many different cultures and race. That is how we will be judged. Take no notice of the bigots, the world is full of them. Good luck .

I totally agree with you. I am British and also very pro American. However, don't be too upset at some on the comments on this site.
If you look at the grammar or spelling of the most vulgar posts you will see the people posting are either semi-literate or just young kids. The views of either group do not cause me any concern !
