Its normally for Linux, But they also have a windows version.

I've been using Paint Shop Pro for the past 5 years, they stay updated (http://www.jasc.com ). I know Photoshop is very popular but I had that once too, I found it too difficult to use. The Paint Shop Pro was use as is, and easy. Everybit as powerful as Photoshop.

Paint Shop Pro with out a doubt. Its cheaper then Photo Shop. A LOT CHEAPER. It is comparable to elements. It has a learning curve though but I think there is more third party help out for paint shop pro. Lots of tutorials etc etc etc. If you want a free one try the one on google. It is called picasa. Kim Komando loves it. It is at http://picasa.google.com/

photoshop is the most powerful program in my opinion it can do just about everything. there are others that are less expensive like paintshoppro.
