This article reports that the number of antidepressant prescriptions was around 11 million in 2005. They tracked over 90% of all pharmacy transactions. That's a little over 3%, not 30%

Think of it. There's no face validity to such a claim. I bet you read this someplace. It's common for special interest groups to find a survey and extrapolate. Somebody probably did a survey and found 30% of some group were on antidepressants and published the number as if it were God's own truth. Always be wary of claims from polls, as you can get one to say pretty well anything you wish.

I'd believe it, although I think the % is much higher. This world is getting so fast paced that if you don't keep up, you loose. People are out there only for themselves anymore-they can't see what others might feel and to be honest, they just don't care. Antidepressants are the thing that we take to get along in this world at this time. Pretty sad, huh.
