the person that answered YES with the explanation gave you correct information. You can purchase a cheap hub or router but the results on dialup are always slow. And both can be on at the same time just as you could download multiple pages with your browser.



Just network them as usual (cross cable or through a hub/router) and use ICS (Internet Connection Sharing) which is a standard part of Windows XP. You will (obviously) need to turn on the computer containing the modem when the internet is required, so the modem should be placed in your main computer.

The speed will be even slower though and downloading should only be done when only one computer is active.

Not at the same time...NO!
Check with your local telephone company to see if they offer DSL instead. That, will do it for you.
