I don't know much about Windows XP but i have experience with computers. Basically waht i want to do is find a find a setting in the bios for the wireless thing and disable it and then password protect it

if your laptop has built in 802.11x then you need to restart it and enter the BIOS setup. there will be a option to disable the on-board wireless adapter.

then password protect your BIOS...your done

If you just want to disable the adapter you can do this in the Device Manager in Windows XP. Go into the Control Panel and open up "System".

Click on the Device Manager tab
Expand the Network Adapters
Right-click on the corresponding on and click Disable

You have to be a local administrator to enable it again
