I bought my car from a dealership on October 21, 2005. it is a 2004 dodge neon. A few nights ago the transmission just shot. I will have my foot on the gas pedal in drive and the car won't move. I talked to my dealership and the warranty I have was only good for 3 months and 3000 miles, I put a little over 5000 (traveling) so now they say that they will go 50/50 for a new transmission. Anyone have a rough estimate on how much that will cost me?

A factory rebuilt transmission will be in the $1500-$2000 range, and the labor to install it will be about half that again!

Be thankful that they are willing to do anything, normally after the warranty expires, you are on your own!
