Do you need a License to be a Barber?
I know you dont need a License to Cut Hair , But can you work in a Salon and Just do Harcuts without a License

I believe you are "supposed" to be licensed to work in a salon and cut hair. Now, it may depend on state laws but I know in Oklahoma you have to be licensed. If you go to barber school it takes 1200 hours for completion and then you take the board examiniation. If you don't go to barber school you will have to have 2250 hours as a registered apprentice in a licensed barber shop and then qualify by board examiniation. Hope this helps you out.

A. The salon won't rent you a chair if you don't have a license.

B. The salon wouldn't risk their business reputation by letting you do unlicensed business in their professional shop.

C. The licensing board would find out quickly that you were doing it, and have you shut down and fined.

Yes you need a license to be a barber and you have to pass a Test in every state you work.

Yes, you need a license to do almost everything nowadays especially in a salon. And I don't know who told you that you don't need a license to cut hair because you do unless you're cutting hair at home.
