My computer will not play my speakers it says that?

when u play a game,or opening media with any other program,or when shutdown the pc or starting it,can u get any sound from speakers? if yes so it is ur windows media player problem,if no so it is the soud card problem.
shutdown ur pc and unplug the power cable then unplug the

sound card from motherboard and put it again.
open the device manager and check for sound drivce.(go to control panel then system then hardware then device manager.)
if u get a "yello !" mark or "yello ?" mark then ur sound card is not correctlly installed.put the installation cd and install it again.

This sounds like a media player 9 problem re-download the media player. this should reinstall the sound driver and check the control panel and sound and check if you see the speaker connected and go through the sound check.

check the properties and change the speakers to the typew of speakers that your comp has! did it last week on my grandmas! she was having the same problem
