Yes. It's legal there. Including Hash, a concentrated version of cannabis.
Also, whomever answered that it also has one of the highest crime rates has nothing to do with smoking pot... It has to do with tourist attraction. They are one of the most crowded cities for people in the UK to travel to on holiday so they attract the "red necks" of Europe who are responsible for the increase in crime.

It is not totally true. In Amsterdam, you will find hashish and marijuana bars and clubs. The drugs are tolerated as opposed to being legal. You cannot just go to any city and just magically start smoking pot. It is a bit on the expensive side to travel there and you will have to stay somewhere and eat as well.

It is not legal, just tolerated. The Dutch allow mild drugs in Amsterdam to keep the stoners in one place, and generate taxes. Be advised: outside of the city it is not acceptable to smoke weed. If caught smoking one of the locals will probably tell you this rather than have you deal with the constabulary.

Absolutely!
In Great Britain, if a cop sees you smoking a joint, he MIGHT take it away from you and throw it in the street.
In the US, many cities have adopted a LOWEST priority for pot busts. That means if the cop has something else to do, like stop a real crime, he'll just ignore it.
