Yes. Teenagers often need money, and most are certainly mature enough to enter the workforce. There is a minimum age in most places, and that does make sense as small children really shouldn't be working at all.

The minimum age should be 14 the children under thirteen should not be allowed to work at any businesses where there is money in voled unless it is just mowing or yard work something like that younger teens 14 to 15 should be able to get a job as a waiter or something nonhazardous but any older than that 16 17 c18 19 20 should be able to work any job that doesn't have a need for a college degree because there are family's that do not have 2 parents and need extra money and some teens would like a nice car and a few nice things and it is a valuable lesson to learn the value of a dollar at a descent age.

yes...there are alot of regulations that protect young workers already...in NY children under 18 can only work so many hours a week and sometimes only on the weekends and only can do particular types of work, also they have to be atending school if they are under 17 and need a parent or guardian signature along with a physical from a physician w/ a Doctor's Signature stating that they are physically capable to work and do certain jobs...in NY you can get your working permit/working papers
at age 14 but not a lot of people hire that young, so most kids get them at 16 which is the age most business start hiring at...i think kids need working experience before age 18 so that they can be introduced ino the workforce with atleast some knowledge and experience...plus teenagers want to have money to buy their own things and feel a sense of independence and jobs offer that opportunity

I don't know where you are from but here in the states a child can work as young as 14(although most places won't hire you till you're at least 16). We have what is known as child labor laws. These laws limit the number of hrs. and or days a child can work during the week when school is in session, weekends, hours of the day they are permitted to work(NOT after midnight till older) and summer hours, specific break times per hrs. worked, and wages.(Everybody working here gets at least minimum wage unless a waitress. (Special provisions for them because of tips). These laws are very specific and if an employer doesn't adhere to them, they are in BIG trouble for violations.
A child under ther age of 18 here must also get "working papers". They contain signatures of parents allowing child to work, Teacher(Prinvcipal of school they attend) and a Dr. signature stating they completed a physical on the applicant and they are capable of working with no restrictions or if restricted, they must list what they can and cannot do.

No. Chlidren should not be allowed to work as an adult if under the age of eighteen. To allow this would be regressing to the days of child labor. It certainly would not be as severe but the point is it should not be allowed.

I do agree with teens working part-time jobs with limited hours. Especially for those who are in high school. I believe that it would form good values and a principal work ethic for young individuals.

Not in CT, here you can only drive with one adult over 21 (with a valid DL), period. Even when you get your license you can't drive with anyone under 18 for six months whether there is anyone else in the car or not. These laws vary however, you need to check the laws in your state.

There are minimum ages for children to work. I think its a great idea for young people to work. The earn their own money, learn the value of a dollar, can buy their own car, clothes, Cd's etc..etc...etc....

Yes! Do you know how many young people depend on a paycheque to stay in school. The haard ships that they would face if they couldn't work are asternomical. Many would have to dwop out of school & where would their future be without that education.
