It is not racism.
We have been a very welcoming country.
There have been people who havnt been as welcoming. Just as there have been immigrants who havnt abided by our laws, or not tried to intergrate or learn the language. But thats not everybodys attitude.
I don't think the questioning is based on immigrants not being welcome in the uk as you said. I think the questions are based on worry for out country because our government has been too lax on laws and boundries and now we are at a point where we don't know how many people (or what kinds of people they are , eg. murderers, rapists etc. we have enough of those as it is) live here.
Some countries don't accept any immigrants at all. Do you think that is racist? Because to call britain racist is a bit of a slap in the face really.
I dont think immigrants have spoiled the country. I think our government has. By not setting clear boundries. Obviously a lot of immigrants in poorer countries think they are going to have an amazing life here, but they don't. I happen to know a lot of turkish immigrants and they don't seem to like this country at all.
I think it is worrying that we dont know how many people live in our country. Anyone see that interview on news night . Jeremy paxman interviewing tony blair. He was asking how many immigrants there were in the country and it was embarrasing for blair. He didnt have a clue.
I mean, that's not good. A country needs to know how many people live in it.
You go in to a few shops in oxford street and the staff cant speak english and thats our capital city. The wages are being kept minimal. Our children will become the immigrants of the future because our government is slowly creating conditions for a third world country in britain.
Eventually we will have no money for the NHS, Eduction and housing, and when britain is a third world country I wonder if these other nations will be as helpful to our grandchildren.
You need to listen to why people are saying these things before assuming they are being racist.
(Im not denying that there are racist people here, but A lot of them are anti british racists and are actually plotting against us).
Of course it's easier to take a more liberal view on these things if you live in the comfort in of a small town or village, but one month living in london and I'm sure their attitude's would change.
I know this because i lived in the south wales valleys until last year and used to think like that too.

Reverse Racialism is probably the most prolific form of racialism in the country and practised by white indigenous people who actually hate the country they were born into and their own people. It is also practised by the ethnic minorities that in some areas of our land have become majorities. These racialist call themselves socialists to hide their resentment of the society they live. Although Briton has been flooded with immigrants from all over the world creating a fast decline in the English population. The reverse racialist will do everything he or she can to kill off their own people. The same people will point to the Holocaust as a world disaster and almost fight to the death defending the Jewish Communities right to exist in Israel or anywhere else in the world. Those ignorant people who condemn the BNP and UKIP and continue to support the present communist regime, even after all the fraudulent activity that has taken place under New Labour rule along with the chaos in Iraq, The pension Scandle and the dirty scandles of prescott Blair and other MP's in the house must be blind. New Labour has since it got into power consistantly reduced our righs to free speach and will continue to do so so even speaking our minds on this forum will be ilegal. The English have a right to exist and if we don't defend our home land every year we are getting nearer to extingtion. The BNP and UKIP must at all costs make headway into the houses of parliment and form an open and riaveling opposition or we simply die. Its up to you or should I say us to fight all the way to tthe ballot boxes to save ourselves I hope at least one person agrees with me. The Communist party in power at the moment are confident that the New conservative party is now the real new labour so even if they are not realected there will be alot more of the same under New Conservatism.
You must all be aware of the secret police New Labour has introduced I never thought I would see it in England, I hope you will agree this must be abolished ASAP

No! It's what I call, " a bit sensible. The 'racist' word is past it's sell by date. People now realise that it is just a ruse to prevent comment and/or debate about an issue of the Greatest concern to Britain. Britain, only ever needed very low level, and selected immigration, as used to be the case, and is still applied by sensible countries. You haven't made a case for large scale immigration into a small island, that already has 60 million people in it, with over-stretched public resources.
I don't understand where 'Jools' is coming from. The 'right' haven't been in power for a very long time. We have a 'left wing' Government that has caused the mess that we are in. Still a lot of educating to do I fear.

This is a problem that has really been generated as a counterbalance to those who advocate PC and it's the reaction to the scatterbrained thinking on the left of politics. For those who were not aware...black people are not the same as white people and men are not the same as women, and people who think it is wrong to say this are living in cloud cuckoo land. We cannot choose who we employ and there are quotas of black, brown, women, disabled......the next thing we know the Caledonian Society will have to have it's quota of West Africans, East Europeans, transexuals and wheelchair-bound break dancers.

Firms use immigrants as cheap labour, that means those jobs are not available or will not be offered to the indigenous population. It's the same as English builders doing jobs in Germany and taking less that their counterparts there. Even Burberry are moving their buisness to China-cheap labour!

Yeh, I wonder why and how the 'immigration' issue has suddenly taken hold in this country. I think the media (especially The Mail and The Express) have a lot to do with it and Michael Howard when trying to win the last election latched onto the issue. Recently this labour government have had a go (moaning about Muslim women wearing veils- I ask you!). It's scary, if you read any of the BBC 'Have Your Say' comments when discussing immigration it sounds like Hitler's back in town. Hopefully the bigots and right-wing nasties are in the minority.

when in Rome, do as the Romans do. I, as an immigrant, trying to reserve my own culture and getting into the local communities, helping my neighbors to build the community a better place to live. all of the immigrants should do what i am doing now to improve the life quality of the country where they are residing.

If you are a kind person and you allow homeless people to live in your house with you, eventually you will have so many of them in a small house that there will be no room for anyone at all. Therefore you have to ask some of thoes people to move out, because the size of the house can no longer support so many people. This is what has happened to us in our tiny island. We welcomed immigrants to our country and they kept on coming and coming and sending for their relatives to come here to live also. Now we have reached saturation point, there is no more room . We cannot support ,feed house and clothe our families, we cannot get jobs. There are too many people going after too few jobs and houses. We must look after ourselves and our families first. This is our country, other people who come here do so only with our knowledge and permission. We do and we must come first in our own country. It is time we closed our boundries and border to all foreign immigrants, with no exceptions. I say all this with a very sad heart, because thoes who know me would confirm that I am the most non - racist person they have known. But this situation cannot be allowed to continue. This subject, will before many more years pass, lead us into revolution; the feelings of the people are so strong. I have studied revolutions at great depth, and please believe me, we do not want a revolution in this country.
