Court Cases Regarding the 9th Amendment:

Griswold v. Connecticut(1965). What happened in this case was that Connecticut was banning the distribution, use, etc., of contraceptives but Griswold declared a doctrine that stated that there are gaps in the amendments of the constitution

United States v. Vuitch(1971). You had to meet "health" exceptions for you to be able to have an abortion but the word "health" was to o vague but this statement did not work for Vuitch but it did work in California.

Roe v. Wade(1973). This case stated that abortion was a constitutional right and that states could only abridge after the first six months of pregnancy but Texas said that all abortions should be banned except for to save the mother's life.

Doe v. Bolton(1973). This case is the companion case to the Roe case that also states that women should wait until after their 6th month before they could have an abortion but they have to have physical and mental health.

Harris v. McRae(1980). This case states that though abortion is a Constitutional right, that does not mean that the state is obliged to pay for abortions.

A 9th amendment case could potentially be any one in which the Court did NOT mention the 9th, but didn't mention any of the other principles of the Bill of Rights either. The Roe v. Wade opinion by the Supremes (written by, in particular, Justice Blackmun) didn't purport to rest their conclusion on the 9th, but on the Due Process Clause of the 14th. Just like in Griswold v. Conn, 1965, the Court only mentioned the 9th amendment very briefly but purported to rest the conclusion on a variety of other provisions in the Bill of Rights too. If you want to think of Roe as being based on the 9th, then you might as well think of Griswold that way also. And you can do Moore v. East Cleveland, 1977, that way. And Lawrence v. Texas, 2003. How about Troxel v. Granville, 2000?
