Well I do not mean to be sexist but I do not think you are wrong at all. Usually if the wife stays home her duties include cleaning and cooking because you are working for the family and she has to put her part in as well. Try talking to her about saying that you like to work and glad she can stay at home but ask her to just clean up a bit. My hubby works and I stay at home and I clean and cook for him~

You say ur wife has nothing to do during the day. Have u actually asked her what she gets up to?
If she really does nothing all day then ur right she should clean the house. Most woman are multi skilled and can cope with running a few errands, go out to lunch with their friends, look after the kids and keep the house clean. She may need to learn to be organised. It really doesn't take much to clean once a week and then keep the house tidy for the rest of the week.
Maybe you shouldn't tidy the house and it might force her to clean up.
Just one question? Has anyone ever taught ur wife how to keep a tidy clean house. Most people take it for granted that woman should know, but if she didn't learn from her mother she really might not know how?

If your wife does nothing all day - you have a right to be concerned. IF however, she is constantly chasing after your kids, keeping them safe, clean, entertained, clothed, fed, etc, etc,.... try to cut her a little slack!
Mom's work - and more than just an 8 hour day. We are expected to be full-time nanny's, house-keepers, chauffeurs, teachers, nurses, house-keepers, laundresses, personal shoppers, gardeners, and so much more.
When my kids (two sets of twin, with only two years between sets) were little, I would be exhausted by dinner time, but still he expected a little something after dinner too - and he never even helped wash the dinner dishes....... any wonder I left him?

i'm a wife that stays home with 2 girls. and it's not too much to ask. you are the only money maker, you work all day every day. why should you have to clean? if you spend 20 mins everyday cleaning up the house. it wouldn't kill her. i feel sorry for you. good luck with her lazyness.

Definitely not. Yea maybe she has a few errands to run but since she is home she should be up to the job of cleaning the house. If u have kids then it might be a little harder to, but she should definitely be cleaning.

You are both responsible for contributing to the maintenance of the household. If she doesn't do that through working and helping to pay for things, she needs to do it by other means, like cleaning, cooking and making sure things run smoothly. She isn't doing her part and you need to explain to her that his is a partnership and she's just not holding up her end.

You are not wrong to expect her to take part in running the household. You do, you earned the money to pay for the things she doesn't clean.
