Only do it if you are sure that you're good, otherwise it wiil uncomfortable for everyone. How to find out if you really are good: record yourself, listen to it, try a few times till you are happy with it. Find a few close friends and/or family members who you know will be honest with you. Sing in front of them, have them listen to the recording and tell you what they really think. If everyone says then go then you have every reason to be confident about it. You can't avoid every embarrassing situation in life and sometimes you have to ake risks and learn from mistakes, but proper planning and homework wiil minimize it. As for the boy if it turns out that he doesn't like the way you sing and it is something you're passionate about then it wouldn't work anyway. If you sound good though you might get his attention. Whats the worst that could happen?

The guy and the talent show are two different things. If you want to perform, do it for yourself, because it's fun or whatever. If the guy's there...so? Lots of people are there. If you want to do it, don't be deterred by shyness or the audience or whatever.

I adore performing even though I'm super-shy.

Oh, word to the wise--DON'T do anything sappy or sentimental! There was this chick who sang, "The Way We Were" at my hs talent show--a 17-year-old! What does a 17-year-old know about decades of love lost and regret and looking back over a lifetime? Puh-leeze!

Pick something fun and run with it. Recruit a couple of other people to sing with you or haul a group on stage to dance around like idiots. Now is a great time to get over your inhibitions. I say, perform and have a good time.

go for it!!! if this is something that you really want to do then just do it. find a song that suits you and your voice. don't over sing it. practice in front of your family and close friends at first. at least a few times until you are more comfortable.they can be your best audience and your worst critics. take time to go up on the stage before the performance or audition. it will help you get used to the feeling of being up there. be yourself and have fun. sing your heart out. you can do it.

Well...you want to do it...so you can
You could surprise a lot of people
You could also maybe get together a band to play intruments to your singing, or just have a few other people sing with you
